Mon Cheri Et Moi

So, finally, I went to Singapore! After, erm well, never having been there, even though it's so near. Kinda lazy to blog everything about Singapore; so in a nutshell, we basically spent 3 days for Singapore. 2 nights in Tune Hotel Danga Bay and 1 night in Mayo Inn, Singapore. Universal Studios was probably the biggest highlight and of course went to famous tourist places. Definitely need to go back to Singapore agn. Next time with tonnes of money so that I can shop to my heart desires :)

After Singapore we went up to Colmar Tropicale. We booked a room through cuti.com.my when they had a special promotion. Only after booking did we came across bad reviews on the hotel. Like really bad reviews. On tripadvisor, more than 70% of the reviews were negative comments and disappointments. About the old furniture, the incompetent staff, the dirty toilet, etc. Knowing this, we went up with really low expectation so that we won't be too disappointed.

But alas, upon arriving in KL, after having forced to spend extra money to check in luggage at Changi cos Tiger Airways was too strict and "licik" and having to wait long for the bus, I received a call from my relative, David a.k.a Mario (technically he's my uncle). Didn't know that he worked at Colmar and so he upgraded us to one-bedroom suite. Awesome!

Of course, the suite was great. I do admit that the place looks a bit rundown. For a hotel that is run by the famous Berjaya group where one would expect the standard would be much higher, this hotel is "ok ok only". From the reviews, many recommend just having a day trip up there. But I'm not really complaining also since I got a nice big suite :)

Things to do up there? Not much, but it's ok if your aim is just to go up and have a relaxing vacation. We went to the Japanese Garden and Tea house, Botanical Garden and Rabbit Park since it was included in our package. It was really nice though, to wind down, relax and have a break from all that walking and travelling in Singapore.

So now... I'm back at home, got my SPA letter and just waiting for the KKM letter to come...
