Recap 2009

After reading my dear bro's blog post, I was tempted to recap my 2009 in months. But when I thought of what I did in January, and then February, and March and so on, I realised that I don't really have much special things (or even anything special) happening every month. That is how boring my life is. Study, study study, exam, exam, exam.

The only significant months would be April and May where I went to Japan for 5 weeks (I miss Japan a lot!) and June where we started learning salsa and then cha cha. (In fact, our last class was today) And of course, December cos of Christmas. Other than that, it hasn't been a great year really, especially as the end of the year approaching. Like I screwed up paeds exam and failed to get the awards I promised myself to get. Like having a breakdown in front of a doctor I'll be working with in the future. Very minor things like ordering food mistakes, fav labcoat spoilt by ink, etc etc. Like not winning contests I so hope to win. It's like everything I do abides by Murphy's Law and it has got me beaten down recently. Hence, not my usual optimistic and enthusiastic recap-year-post.

Oh well, I guess and hope 2010 will be a great year. I'll become a doctor. finally. and and this point of time, hopefully. Hoping that the diminishing luck of 2009 will expire completely and replenished fully for 2010. pls oh pls...

Amused

Yday, I was reading this book "Surgical Recall" by Lorne H. Blackbourne...It's basically a question-and-answer book.
So then, I was reading about the biliary tree...

Question: What are the boundaries of the triangle of Calot?
Answer:
The 3 C's: 1. Cystic duct 2. Common hepatic duct, 3. Cystic artery

Then I was like hmmm, I just read my notes that the other border is the liver edge, instead of cystic artery. And then I turned to the next page...and voila!

Question: Dr. Blackbourne, are you absolutely sure that the Triangle of Calot includes the cystic artery and not the liver edge?
Answer: Yes. Look up Gastroenterology...

LOL. I really love funny authors! At least they make reading medicine a bit less boring and bearable :)

My Christmas Wishlist

This year, I'm gonna be shameless and post my christmas wishlist here and make everyone's life easier at the same time. As much as I love a surprise, I also do love getting things that I really want. This year, almost all of things I want are clothing items because I've been hopelessly addicted to online window shopping recently. So here it is:

1. A Long Cardigan- any colour will do :)

2. Wallet
My current wallet has pen marks all ovr it liao...Would love the long type one. Has been wanting pretty and sweet patterns or the quilted type ones.

3. Bag
Those tote handbags I can use for class and outing, similar to my current white bag. Aldy have white, would love to hv a black or brown one.

4. One of my fav's online blogshop is http://www.double-woot.com/. I love their dresses but somehow it always sell out quite fast. They're also selling these Stretchable Denim Pants which looks really nice :)

5. Maxi dress
Dont think will ever get one myself bcos I dont think I'll be brave enough to wear it casually. Would love either the floral-pattern type or just the plain, bold colour type (2nd pic.hehe). One can use to Bali, the other to my cousin's wedding!

6. A nice necklace. Just a simple one with maybe a heart or cross pendant.

7. A nice new playground for Hammie...

8. MONEY! Can't go wrong with money...hehe. Then at least I'll be able to get all the things above :)

9. Any things other than the above would be a surprise, so yay, I'll still love it. hehe.

(p.s.: am keeping reaaaally expensive stuff like a designer handbag or Blackberry under the wishlist of my graduation present. hehe.)
